The first in what will hopefully be a series of live online chat interviews with Transhuman and Singularitarian luminaries went very well. Last night Natasha Vita-More joined us and talked about her first steps in becoming a Transhumanist and also about her vision of what a posthuman reality could be like.
Vita-More goes beyond the purely academic and manifests her work with intuition by including art, music, dance, and design concepts. She takes the human experience and transhumanist ideals and takes bold steps to create the ‘Transhumanist Experience’. To her, transhumanism isn’t something that will happen with future technologies, it’s a philosophy for living a good life that starts now.
I hope that readers of Blogging the Singularity take some time to get to know her work better. She adds a unique voice to the literature and has quite a body of work as she has been a transhumanist philosopher since 1982 after falling in love with science and after tragedy struck she had the will to live through it. It was then, she said, “BINGO!” - a love of science and technology and the will to live made her the first female transhumanist philosopher.
