Hi, I'm Chris Williamson

Hello everyone I blog at Blogging The Singularity and I also started H+ Cafe. I am a filmmaker/digital media production specialist and science enthusiast.

I have to admit I'm worried about the future. You won't hear me say that techno-utopia or a technocalypse is inevitable because the fact of the matter is that we only have ideas about what the future holds. One thing is for sure, change is the only constant and things seem to be heating up!

I live in Kansas City, MO with my wife, Stephanie, a nurse. I started blogging at Blogging the Singularity because for years I had been collecting news stories on the latest cutting edge science and research on my own. When I discovered blogging I realized that I could blog about the news stories and they would be there forever, charting the course. I was finally able to share my passion with others and now BTS boasts hundreds of thousands of visitors and almost 600 subscribed readers. It is more successful than I ever imagined.

So now I am taking a more activist approach. I am shooting a documentary about the Transhumanist and Singularitarian movements and I created H+ Cafe to build an active community of Transhumanists and Singularitarians from all over the world.

Not only are we following the news now but we're creating it. My doc about these movements is called We Are The Singularity and I've invited anyone and everyone to join and take an active role in the movement.

I am no longer hiding in the shadows behind a news blog. This is my coming out and saying to the world that I am a Transhumanist and Singularitarian and I am concerned about the future and what it may hold for humanity. Exposing the reality of Accelerating Returns to the public is my goal now.

Creating a blog was the first step. I now have an audience of like-minded individuals and credibility.

Building a community of active participants out of that audience is the next step. That's where H+ Cafe comes in.

I am only a part of the equation, there are many organizations dedicated to analyzing, creating, and warning about the future. If you belong to one of those organizations then create a group here and help create an atmosphere of camaraderie and activism.
